Before you go on vacation, read some useful tips that Mporoume gives you, in order to achieve zero food waste before you leave for your summer destination.

  • Check the correct temperature in your refrigerator for the best preservation (4οC)
  • Place in the freezer meat or fish, hard cheeses, and cooked food that you have not consumed
  • Use the fruit you can’t take with you to make smoothies or make granitas for preservation in the freezer
  • Basil, spinach, arugula can make a nice pesto sauce for last minute pasta
  • If the milk or yogurt is nearing its expiration date, you can make cream for a dessert or other refrigerator dessert
  • Leftover vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, etc., can be made into a sauce and stored in the freezer
  • You can put the cucumbers in airtight containers with water for preservation for 2-4 weeks
  • Packaged food which you have already opened (rice, spaghetti, frumenty, etc.) can be kept in the refrigerator
